 Courthouse Falls spring from the western slope of Devil's Courthouse, a mountain where Indians believed the devil held court. There is a trail from a Blue Ridge Parkway overlook to the summit of Devil's Courthouse and to a cave within the mountain. The falls are a must-see if you are in the area. Directions: From Rosman, take NC 215 north 10.2 miles. Turn right onto Forest Service road 140 and follow it for 3 miles to a pull-off on the right just across a stream. Hike the Summey Cove trail starting to the left for .2 mile, then the .1 mile switchback to the left down to the base of the falls. All photos © Allen Easler. |
