A native of metro Atlanta, I grew up in Greenwood County, South Carolina and spent a lot of time along Lake Greenwood. I attended Greenwood District 50 and Greenwood District 52 schools and graduated from Ninety Six High School in Ninety Six, SC. I graduated from in
Due West, SC with a bachelor's degree in
history and earned a S.C. Teacher Certification in social studies from
Lander University in Greenwood. I taught school in Ridgeland, SC near Savannah, GA and Beaufort, SC. I have been a reporter for the Index-Journal in Greenwood, SC. I have also worked at the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control in Columbia where I did public relations for a highway safety campaign in the emergency medical services section. Now, I work in the alcohol and drug abuse prevention field in Greenwood, SC. My interests include: church, politics, weight loss, Atlanta Braves baseball, Clemson University football, and Greenville Grrrowl hockey, I am also involved with a lot of outdoor activities such as: rafting, hiking, and camping. I listen to: contemporary Christian music and classic rock & roll. And, I am a fan of Bela Fleck & The Flecktones I am also a fan of folk artists such as: Jimmy Buffett, Indigo Girls, and Jewel and bluegrass music artists such as: Alison Krauss and Nickel Creek.
